I have had a sweet tooth for as long as I can remember.  When I was 18 I was a size 6 and my idea of dieting was drinking skim milk with my Oreos for lunch.   At 34, I was still eating dessert first and the only marathons I participated in were watching back to back Law and Order SVU episodes.  Shockingly, my weight was steadily climbing. I was still a size 6, the 6 just had a 1 in front of it.

I watched two of my friends get into great shape by training for a half marathon and I thought I should give that a try.  I ran my first half mile in March of 2011 and my first half marathon in Dec. 2011.  I’m not fast, but I’m improving.  I will never outrun my love of all things dessert related, that might have something to do with why I’m not fast, but I have lost 30 pounds and fallen in love with running.  In September I will start training for my first full marathon.
